Jig Trek

High speed jigging is one of the latest disciplines to hit the market. This specialist form of angling requires a dedicated action of rod to cope with the rigors of fishing in deep water for large specimens on braided line. The action is such that not only does it need to have a sensitive tip, but it needs to have an extremely powerful backbone to allow you to pump fish from the deep.To come up with a multi-piece travel rod with the exacting action was very difficult and time consuming, but we are extremely proud of our final design which has been used successfully in many oceans around the world. Fish of over 100 lbs were caught while field testing by our consultants. Their feedback has been invaluable to ensure that not only have all the fittings been correctly positioned but have been specifically chosen for this finite task.

The Jig Trek will cope brilliantly with 300-400 gram jigs and braided lines up to 60 lbs breaking strain. This rod is ideally suited to be used with spinning reels up to 20,000 size.

We have selected to use top quality Fuji guides throughout, of which there are seven full cradle supported rings. We have also incorporated a Fuji reel fitting with a lock down action and a Gimbal end butt essential for all stand-up work. The fore grip above the reel fitting has been sculptured with a comfortable finger grip to allow maximum pressure to be exerted.

The Jig Trek is made from four sections with a transportation length of 21.5 inches and is presented in a top quality, smart, zipped hard case travel tube for ultimate protection and ease of transportation.
